Questions Answered
I have a list of questions people have been asking about for over a year. I had originally intended on answering them one post at a time but, like many good intentions, it didn't happen. The first question on my list is "why did you name your shop C'est Moi"? This is an easy one to answer so we will start with it by saying that my husband who is totally romantic speaks French and, let's just say he used it in his repertoire of dating skills to woo me. With the name of the shop being C'est Moi{meaning "It is I" or more loosely "That is sooo me!"} most would naturally think my passion is for French findings. While I love french textiles, furniture and culture, the idea of the shop is more about making your own style and not being tailored to one look.
The second most asked question more recently is "how did you know about Annie Sloan"? My personal style has always leaned more English. About 7 years ago my husband and I built a storybook tudor home. While in construction, I would scour the bookshelves and magazine racks of local book stores looking for inspiration for my new humble abode. That is when I first remember seeing Annie's books. Who would of thought that 7 years later I would be crossing the pond to go train with Annie in her studio! The experience has left me with a truly priceless memory and the opportunity to pass on my newly found paint skills to my customers. Thank-You Annie!
